SECTION 1
About Quietus Desk
Quietus Desk is a financial education practice registered and operating in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our registered address is Suite 6-9 Heritage Tower, Jalan Cangkat Raja Chulan, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.
Quietus Desk provides educational programmes to help working adults in Malaysia understand financial documents and household financial concepts. We do not hold a Capital Markets Services Licence issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia, and we do not provide regulated financial advice, investment guidance, or financial planning services as defined under Malaysian law.
By using this website or enquiring about our programmes, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
SECTION 2
Nature of Our Services
All programmes offered by Quietus Desk are educational in nature. They are designed to improve your understanding of financial documents, concepts, and terminology relevant to Malaysian households. Participation in any programme does not:
- Constitute licensed financial planning advice;
- Constitute investment advice or a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any financial product;
- Constitute legal advice on any matter;
- Create a fiduciary or advisory relationship between you and Quietus Desk;
- Result in any transaction, restructuring, or arrangement being executed on your behalf.
Quietus Desk educators do not accept commissions, referral fees, or payments from any financial institution, product provider, or third party in connection with our programmes.
SECTION 3
Programme Booking and Confirmation
All programme bookings are initiated through an introductory call. No booking is confirmed and no fee is due until both parties have agreed in writing (which may include agreement by email) to the programme scope, schedule, and fee.
A Programme Agreement will be sent to you before the first session. Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of the signed Programme Agreement and, where applicable, payment of a deposit as specified in that agreement.
Quietus Desk reserves the right to decline any enquiry or booking at our discretion, without obligation to provide a reason.
SECTION 4
Fees and Payment
Programme fees are as set out in the Programme Agreement. All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) inclusive of any applicable taxes.
Payment terms are specified in the Programme Agreement. Where a deposit is required, it is non-refundable unless Quietus Desk cancels the programme. The balance is due as specified in the Programme Agreement.
Quietus Desk does not offer payment by instalment unless explicitly agreed in the Programme Agreement.
Receipts will be issued by email upon receipt of cleared funds.
SECTION 5
Rescheduling and Cancellation by the Participant
You may reschedule any individual session by giving at least 48 hours' notice by telephone or email. Rescheduled sessions will be offered at a mutually agreed alternative time, subject to availability.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or where the participant does not attend without prior notice, may be charged in full at Quietus Desk's discretion.
If you wish to withdraw from a programme after the first session has taken place, the following applies:
- Any sessions already completed will be charged at a pro-rata rate based on the total programme fee divided by the total number of sessions.
- The Programme Agreement will be terminated and no further sessions will be scheduled.
- Any prepaid balance for uncompleted sessions will be refunded within 14 working days, less any amounts due.
Withdrawal before the first session but after signing the Programme Agreement: the non-refundable deposit (if any) will be retained; any additional amount paid will be refunded within 14 working days.
SECTION 6
Cancellation by Quietus Desk
Quietus Desk may cancel or reschedule a session in the event of illness, unforeseen circumstances, or other events beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will provide as much notice as practicable and will offer an alternative session date.
If Quietus Desk cancels an entire programme (rather than an individual session) without cause attributable to the participant, a full refund of all fees paid will be provided within 14 working days.
SECTION 7
Confidentiality
Quietus Desk treats all information shared during sessions as confidential. Session notes and summaries prepared for participants are not shared with any third party without your explicit written consent, except where required by law.
Participants are requested to treat the materials provided during programmes (including written summaries and templates) as intended for personal use. Reproduction or distribution of programme materials for commercial purposes is not permitted without written consent from Quietus Desk.
SECTION 8
Limitation of Liability
Quietus Desk provides educational information in good faith and with reasonable care. However, we do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any information provided in our programmes, nor that such information is appropriate to your specific financial situation.
Quietus Desk is not liable for any financial loss, direct or indirect, arising from any decision made by a participant following or arising from participation in our programmes.
Participants are responsible for obtaining independent professional advice (including from licensed financial planners, lawyers, or accountants) before making any significant financial decision.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under Malaysian law.
