From people who attended our programmes
Lim Hui Ying
Secondary school teacher · Cheras, KL
"I had been meaning to go through my home loan agreement properly for three years and never quite found the time to do it alone. After the loan documents programme I feel like I understand my own commitments for the first time. The pace was right — there was no pressure to absorb everything at once."

Ahmad Mustaqim Aziz
Civil engineer · Subang Jaya, Selangor
"The Evening Budget Conversations programme was helpful for getting an honest picture of where my money was going each month. I appreciated that the conversation did not end with someone trying to sell me something. The cash-flow template I received has been genuinely useful, and I still refer to it."

Premila Thiagarajan
Senior manager · Bangsar, KL
"I am in my early fifties and had been putting off thinking seriously about what happens after I stop working. The Late-Stage Career Review was the most useful structured conversation I have had about this. The written summary was clear and specific to my actual situation — not a generic template."

Koay Wei Loon
Pharmacist · Petaling Jaya
"I went through the loan documents programme with three years of hire-purchase statements that I had never looked at closely. Working through the interest calculation section was an eye-opener. I now understand exactly what I am paying and why. Worth every ringgit."

Nur Zulaikha Hamid
HR executive · Ampang, KL
"I was a bit uncertain going in — I thought it might feel overwhelming, but it did not. The sessions were calm and unhurried. I came away with a clearer sense of my monthly position and a structure for thinking about it going forward. I would probably do the loan documents programme next."

Govindarajan Ramesh
Government officer · Shah Alam, Selangor
"I am five years from retirement and the career review engagement gave me a proper structure for thinking about how to sequence my EPF withdrawals. The coverage of medical insurance continuity was something I had not considered at all. The written summary has already been useful in a conversation with my financial planner."

CASE STUDIES
Three participant journeys
CASE STUDY — EVENING BUDGET CONVERSATIONS
THE SITUATION
A mid-career teacher in her late thirties, earning steadily but unable to account for where a significant portion of her salary went each month. She had no existing debt problems, but no clear picture of her spending either.
THE SESSIONS
Session one mapped out her income and all known regular outgoings in a listening conversation. Between sessions, a cash-flow summary was prepared. Session two walked through this together and identified two categories where spending was significantly higher than expected.
THE OUTCOME
Left with a completed cash-flow template reflecting her actual pattern — not an estimate. Reported that having the written document made it easier to have a practical conversation with her spouse about household finances for the first time.
"The template sounds simple, but having something written in front of us made it a different kind of conversation at home."
CASE STUDY — READING LOAN DOCUMENTS
THE SITUATION
A 44-year-old engineer holding a home loan, two car hire-purchase agreements, and a credit card balance. He was considering early settlement on one vehicle loan but did not understand the Rule of 78s calculation that would apply and whether it made financial sense.
THE SESSIONS
Four sessions worked through each document type. Session three focused on his specific hire-purchase agreement and walked through the interest calculation structure clause by clause, including the settlement formula applicable under his contract.
THE OUTCOME
Came away with a clear reading of his three loan documents and a working understanding of what early settlement would cost him under each. Decided not to proceed with early settlement on the basis of this review — a decision he felt confident making himself.
"I had signed that agreement without understanding it. Now I can read it properly. That matters."
CASE STUDY — LATE-STAGE CAREER REVIEW
THE SITUATION
A 54-year-old senior public sector officer planning to retire at 60. She had an EPF account, a PRS fund, group insurance through her employer, and a will that had not been updated in twelve years. She wanted to understand her position before meeting any licensed advisers.
THE ENGAGEMENT
Three meetings over three months. First covered EPF account structure and withdrawal sequencing. Second reviewed PRS holdings, her employer insurance policy terms, and what would happen to coverage at retirement. Third addressed her will and her nominee arrangements across all accounts.
THE OUTCOME
Received a written summary covering all areas discussed. Subsequently updated her will and raised specific questions with a licensed financial planner — questions she could not have formulated before the engagement. Described the programme as giving her a clearer starting point for professional advice.
"I went into the financial planner meeting knowing what I wanted to ask. That was different from every time before."
